Abstract

Mother's readiness for breastfeeding reflects the mother's efforts to improve her breastfeeding ability so that she can successfully fulfill her breastfeeding goals. Mother's attitude in adapting to a new environment with the aim that the baby's right to get breast milk as the best nutrition can be fulfilled. This study aims to describe the readiness of mothers in exclusive breastfeeding at Posyandu Dusun Pager Lor Purwosari, Pasuruan Regency.

The research design is descriptive, with a population of 20 people. A sample of 20 people. The sampling technique uses Total Sampling. The research variable is a description of the mother's readiness for exclusive breastfeeding. The research was carried out on March – June 2023 at the Posyandu Dusun Pager Lor Purwosari, Pasuruan Regency. Collecting data using a questionnaire sheet. Data analysis used Univariate analysis.

The results of the study obtained data that the majority of 55% of mothers were ready to give exclusive breastfeeding, and almost half 45% of mothers were not ready to give exclusive breastfeeding, this could be caused by age, level of education, occupation, and the information obtained.

By conducting education about the importance of exclusive breastfeeding and breast pumping, It is hoped that breastfeeding mothers can understand the preparation for exclusive breastfeeding which must be prepared in terms of physical readiness by means of breast care and fulfillment of nutrition in nursing mothers. As well as in terms of psychological/mental healing for mothers by always providing support to breastfeeding mothers from family, friends, and the surrounding environment.
